Most of the youth involved with ACTOUT are socially, culturally, politically, and/or economically disadvantaged. Although some would consider these disadvantages as negative factors that would hinder the youth’s ability to achieve success, those involved with ACTOUT embrace their experiences and provide these youth with the opportunity to flourish through the arts.

All youth become directly involved with the production, including behind the scenes by providing creative storyline concepts, musical expertise, or administrative assistance. This direct involvement and encouragement has built, and continues to build, self-confidence and skills that are beneficial in dealing with any life experiences.

Young people are at the heart of all we do. Their current concerns, dreams and aspirations are what inspire the work we create.
